Eew, I tend to avoid Rolson, as their hand tools are a bit nasty.
Heh. I'm having trouble thinking of anything that I need to buy for
myself. Let alone a xmas list.

I could do to replace the car mind ...

    Never mind that...

Are you still working in Cambridge and if so do you fancy a night in
the pub for beer and food the week after next? I'm due under the knife
again on Monday and the first week I'll be in plaster but after that I
can certainly lift a beer glass.

I need to see you to discuss whether your Armstrong is going to be fit
for use at the end of January and that kind of thing is always best
    done after a few beers.

  4. Same here. I carry a microphone case in my backpack with spare
rechargable batteries for everything from shave to mixing desk light,
    phones, etc.

Why are we still using disposable batteries? Surely the chemicals in
them are an envionmental issue? And it's not as if the disposable ones
are way cheaper than rechargables anyway.

    I have a mixture of 2500, 2600, 2700 and 3000 mAH AA's

Yeah, I've thought about getting one, but the fact that it needs a computer
stops me. The Maplin one has a built in screen and it's totally portable and
    useable.

We got a Snap-On lamp like that. Can't remember what it cost now, but I'll
guarantee it was too fucking much.

Mind ewe, it's been lobbed up the workshop (Catch, oops missed) and run
over by cars and it still works perfectly.

I don't think Maplin did them when we got ours.

I had a quick shufty at the Maplin one today. Unfortunately the battery
was flat so I couldn't see how good the picture was. But the snake
thingy was about half the diameter of the one I've got.

Mine's fine for what we bought it for though (looking behind
    plasterboard covering walls).

Agree - I bought one a couple of weeks ago, and it indeed shines.

But be careful with the plastic "lens" cover of the LEDs, it does not
like organic solvents. Petrol or turpentine or whatever I got on it.

Cool, absolutely. You have my number ...
MOT'd, insured and taxed, exhaust is fixed & it's ready for action.
Heh. Just as soon as I score a decent priced Mikuni [1] on Ebay. It'd
be nice to have a working choke for any "depths of icy weather"
    starting ;)

    Paul.

[1] Mikuni VM32 or anything suitable for a big thumper if anyone has
    one languishing on a shelf ... ;)

Just take a can of easy start and feed the beast within.

I'll probably have an 'emergency' can with me but we can't have too
much of a good thing. You need to make your mind up quickly if you
want to come because we're booking hotels soon and after that point
    it's book your own time.

I'm definitely doing the Elefant and there's an add on this year so
    it's worth going.

It's actually really good: there's nothing better at that price for
night cycling unless you DIY something.

I want it for shoving up holes in guitars (jack sockets) and for probing the
depths of the nut monsters guts when we (I) drop nuts/washers/etc down
    inside doors.

I REALLY want it to have some kind of grab on the end too, but that's moving
into colonoscopy gear and that's pretty shitty.

Not that I know of and I look for them pretty often. I'd love some for my
heated boots (not bike boots) as the 2700mA NiMH's only last about 4 hours
    at full bore.

I think the charger for Li-on batteries would be prohibitively expensive if
    they're available at all.
