....and I still couldn't get the throtles on the Guzzi to balance until half an hour ago. Basically this evening, I did the valve clearances, warmed the engine, then tried to balance the throttles only to run out of fine adjustment on the air screw. This meant I had to resort to taking the sidepanels, seat, tank and airbox off to get at the coarse adjuster, which is a very fiddly locking screw that lets one manually swivel the LH butterfly, then measuring vacuum on the starter motor. I just couldn't get the throttles to balance, with all sorts of erratic, inconsistent readings. After a break for dinner, I had one last shot, and found that the ruddy LH vac gauge hose was kinked...
