I have a hatred of comedy, singing or overly informative PA
announcements. Keep it brief and to the point then shut the **** up.

  5. On a resent long haul, over night flight, I had to share it with 4
children who were allowed to scream, shout, climb over people seats and
whose parents thought it was funny when they woke sleepers up, I asked
    the Chief stewardess:
"Is infanticide legal on long haul over night flights"
    she replied
    "What's infanticide?"

When I explained it to her she never came back to my area of the cabin.

I bet more people took notice of him than they do with the "regular" safety
spiel. Funny enough for a stand up routine.

I bet you feel the same away about platform anouncements. It's dull,
boring, repetive and fuckall use. I mean, the BA life jacket has "Put
head through hole" written on it.

    Tosspots safety announcement,

    "There's the doors, good luck".

That's so you don't confuse it for a toilet seat cover.

  11. True.

On Ryanair it seems they flog charity lottery tickets or something and
my mate Roberto[1] who was selling them on the way home had a whole
stand up act that he did at a sales pitch. It worked well enough that
the kids were pressuring parents to buy.

[1] TOG wears a hat, I read name badges but when it comes to Making A
    Difference we get similar results.

I think our chief steward on Virgin Atlantic a few weeks ago had been
    on the same training course.

bits of floor with some seats and screaming passengers still strapped

When you fly the same route most weeks on the same bus it becomes rather
boring. If the flight attendants don't like me reading a
    paper/book/notes, **** them; I pay their wages.

Isn't that a bit like saying that we have to watch every news bulletin,
for fear of offending the newcasters, even when we've seen the news five
    or ten times that day?

Why do they have a sign saying "Do not flush while seated"? You'd think
    it was fucking obvious.

  19. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Mark
Quite possibly. Not a very good one, though.

It's the landing on water instructions that get me - I'm sure it has
happened - but I can't think of any cases where a plane has landed on
water and the instructions given have been of any use.
