    Indeed a ginge but worth watching again.

    I remember mumble years ago programming 3 axis milling machines was hard
    enough. Ged knows how long it takes to generate the programs for 5 axis
    milling.

    I imagine programs write the programs these days. Take a 3d laser
    scan of an object or a CAD model and let the computer program the
    milling machine.

    Well for sure. Impossible to hand ball that stuff.

    Of course it's not just the cutting path that matters - collision
    avoidance for the tool etc. all has to be taken into account.

    Very impressed I am.

    Simon Wilson took a blunt brush and painted...
    The thing I'm most impressed by is the mill.

    The accuraccy and speed that it can move the head and object around
    considering the total weight that's being moved, is bloody impressive.
