One last fling before the end of summer - what to do?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Aug 27, 2009.

  1. Right, I really, really, really need to have one fucking good day or
weekend on a bike before the rain clamps in for the rest of the season.

    Preferably with some company.

A day, preferably a weekend, in the UK or out, involving motorcycles and
severe misbehaviour. Haven't got the time for more than one, maybe two,
    nights away from home.

All suggestions welcome, And who else wants in if someone comes up with
    a good idea?

    B&B, bunkhouse or camping.

Good food - the steaks are popular and you can even cook them yourself as
they will bring a roasting hot lava stone to the table.

Yes, it's Wales but not North Wales. The local plod are sensible and the
    scenery & roads are stunning.

Meet the idiots in Verdun a week on Friday.

We're riding over from the Black Forest on the Friday, drink beer by
the river Friday night, Saturday ragging bikes around the Ardennes,
Saturday night as Friday and then home on the Sunday.

  5. It's still Wales. And it'll piss down and the roads will be covered with
    sheepshit and caravans. Next.

  6. Tempting. I have a Chunnel crossing booked that weekend for Friday
anyway, and home Sunday. Was planning to go to Chepy with The Doctor.
    Hotel details, please.

Oh, wait a minute. You're not camping, are you?

    Hotel Saint Paul, Verdun.

I think (could be wrong) that Myself, Adie, Krusty, Ogden, Burnt and
    possibly Darsy will be there.
Camping? We're taking sports bikes, not cars.

It's rather fitting, if a little ironic, that the first time we stayed
at the Hotel Saint-Paul was the first year Tog did't bother doing an
autumn French Run so we did our own.

If the Saint-Paul doesn't have room, or doesn't answer (as seems to be
the case when darsy tries to book) Other Hotels Are Available.

Very perceptive, however, I was also thinking of the Guinness, and full
English breakfasts - see cholesterol thread.
