  3. The N word that your Government is so afraid of. You know
    'Negotiation'..
I'm getting flashbacks to Gulf War II here..
Nice logic. Since there had already been a number of children who had
left it's actually probably safer to assume that those children wanted
to stay. Now of course we have to have the debate about whether
children are competent to make that decision..
You really really haven't a clue about anything do you? Including what
went on in the days and weeks prior to the seige.

You are almost on the same level as Des - except he at least can manage
to put two coherent sentances together.

It would be wrong to admit I ROT13'd this before actually reading the
    words.

    So I won't.

  7. You really are a tiresome little child. Maybe one day there is a hope
that you'll grow up and see the world in something other than
    monochrome. But I doubt it.
Ah. So lawful-stupid *and* authoritarian. Nice mix. Shame that you
don't have any shred of ethics or morals to govern your actions.
You don't do the whole 'people skills' thing do you?
No thanks. I might catch stupidity.

Nice idea. Pity it desn't work in practice, but then you're dealing with
    people, not robots.

William S Burrough once proposed that every single law on the books should
be rigourously enforced in all circumstances, and the maximum penalty
applied in every instance. His view was that the US would shortly become a
thin blue line stretched round a sullen core of violators.
You obviously a)don't have kids, and b)don't have the first clue as to how
spoilt and unruly American kids are.
I'm sensing "different planet" issues here.

You know, I can't help but be struck by the fact that the recent theft of a
motorcycle evoked the requisite commiserations but that the murder of six
people only resulted in one of TOG's immature trolls...

Platypus beat me to it but here's a bit more:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4157892.stm
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/attackonlondon/story/0,16132,1550565,00.html

Note that I selected British news sources, in order to avoid accusations of
bias. Regarding the rest of my post, I also presume you're British.

    My thoughts:

    a) I was at the time living in the UK and I look similar to Menezes,
actually a bit more middle-eastern (read: potential terrorist) than him. It
was chilling to think it could potentially have been me. But hey, I'm
    foreign anyway.

    b) In this particular occasion, your police has proven itself worthy of
serving the finest third-world regimes on the planet. What irritated me the
most is that your state, representing you as a nation, didn't have the
dignity to seek proper justice, trying to conceal facts and cover things up
without anyone assuming real responsibility; very much like some third-world
regimes. Being "jumpy" because of a previous terrorist attack is not an
adequate excuse and neither is poor briefing of the officers involved. Of
course offering money to the mourning family makes everything all right.

    c) If the victim were British and the country where the incident took place
were, say, Zimbabwe, we can both imagine your government's reactions and the
Sun's headlines, can't we. A Briton abroad however is a foreigner too, so
    why all the fuss?

    d) I was hoping you were beign sarcastic at first; your comment "He was
foreign anyway, didn't even have a visa to work here" is probably the most
stupid thing I've read in a newsrgoup. Well done, that takes some skill.

In case you're wondering, I'm not saying all that because I dislike the UK,
far from it. I really liked living there, I was always treated fairly and
without prejudice; that's why I expect better from you than this. It's easy
to make fun of the Yanks across the pond but if it's happening where you
    live(d) it's not funny, it's worrying.

And a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential
liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor
    safety."

Occupation soldiers? You don't occupy your own country you fuckwit.
Northern Ireland just happens to be part of Great Britain and if the
government of the day decided to station troops there then there's
nothing even the most blinkered Noraid supporter can do about it.

Would you happen to know if Noraid have balance sheets available for
the public to view showing where any money collected was spent? A lot
of very generous American citizens donated to the cause and I'm sure
they wouldn't like to think they'd supported terrorism in any way at
    all.

Well, I've been sat in a Boston bar and was asked for money for "The
Cause". So, unless you're telling me that it was a donation in support
of the shamrock harvest then I'm sufficiently convinced that the
hypocritical cunts were directing money to terrorists.

They'd probably still be throwing money at the supporters of terrorism
if it wasn't for a few ragheads getting lost when they blagged a free
    flying lesson.

It is a bit funny hearing Bush say that if you fund terrorists you're
a terrorist. It's even funnier seeing the UK government suck up to him
and his daddy and to Reagan.

I'm 'foreign' to Pommieland as well, but if I went there, I wouldn't
expect a head full of bullets because the police were jumpy. (Another
    'win' for the real terrorists?)
To dismiss a death in such an out of hand manner says a lot about you.

To clarify what role the New Zealand "Armed Offenders Squad" had in
WACO, I can safely say......'nothing at all'!
