  1. That was a ride!

I rousted a bunch of friends, 8 showed up. Two were sisters, 25 year old
biker virgins. They were a hoot. My friend is teaching them how to ride on
a XR100, and I told her to ask them if they wanted to get a taste of the
real thing. I packed one on my RS1100, and the other rode on the back of a
    R1150GS.

There will be two more biker babes on the roads! They are completely hooked
    now.

Left Little River Saturday morning, rode up Hwy 1 to Leggett, up 101 to
Fortuna, then right on Hwy 36 over to I-5, up to Mt. Shasta to stay the
night, then came back down Hwy 96 to Hwy 299, 101, and home to Little River.
753 miles. Not one photo. Just miles and miles of smiles.

I just love Hwy 96, I think even more than Hwy 36.

while we were taking a break on Hwy 96 a big fat bald eagle flies by. No
    tickets, no accidents.

We had so much fun, we decided to do this yearly, next year we do Hwy 3 up
to Hwy 96, but I wanted to see Mt. Shasta this trip. The old girl is almost
naked, there is very little snow on the mountain.

  3. you want wildlife? I neglected to mention the flock of wild turkeys on Hwy
36, there must have been about 10 of them, milling about in my lane. I
started scrubbing speed off rapidly, but they were running down my lane away
from me, so I hammered the fiamms and the brakes at the same time, and they
all took off flying....down my lane. I was surrounded by flying turkeys.
All around, to the right, left, above, ahead...They were so close I could
have grabbed one and bashed its brains in on the pavement. However, I was
still braking and blowing the horns, and Thanksgiving is still a ways away.

    now that was some wildlife!
