I managed to do the same this morning. I haven't quite got used to the
positioning of the mirrors on the ST as opposed to the 9R.
How did you not notice? It's pretty obvious when it happens.
If there's a chance of damage, then maybe. I didn't do anything apart
from the clip the mirror. I just issued an apologetic wave.
    eBay?

Happened to me with a mad taxi coming toward me at high speed a few months
ago, I was advised to notify the police, so I did and heard nothing more.

  8. I caught someones mirror quite hard when filtering through some stationary
taffic. They pulled away just as I was passing and managed to drift across a
bit. There was a noise like breaking plastkc as my handguard caught the
mirror and the driver was obviously pissed off as they were sounding the
horn with some enthusiasm. I indicated and went all the way round the
roundabout that I had been filtering up to, back onto the the same road I
entered from and pulled over but they never followed. I reported it to the
police as I was prettty certain there had been some damage to their car. The
police told me it was the right thing to do as it is a reportable incident
    anyway.

If it makes you feel better you could tell your local police station,
as others have said. I doubt anything will come of it though unless
the other driver tells the police.

You don't want to be caught tomorrow by the same driver in the same
queue of traffic who notes your number down and calls the police who
then send you a shitty letter about failing to stop/report.

I went down the Police station and they filled in a big yellow form
and told me I was doing the right thing. I honestly have no idea if
what ever I hit was damaged or not. I should have stopped
    basically..

BTW please make sure you have your docs. sorted before you ever report
an accident to the coppers. There's a thought...

**** it, I reported it just in case. I had to trundle all the way
down to the Police station.. Apparently they send the form off to
the local station near the incident but I got the impression that
basically it'll l just get buried. I went to Sainburys on the way
home.. there was a nice bird on the checkout.
