I think the gun on the side would be a bad idea. Houston toughies such as
Morgan Kane will be slapping Wyatt down and taking his gun.

You sir, are correct. I'm all for "open carry". I personally would
want to know who is packing heat... Besides myself, of course.
And, as of now, if I'm at the local 7-11,digging around in my purse
and someone inadvertently sees my .38. Well, the law would get called
and I'd be shook down. I would not be a happy toter, I assure you.
If more "good people" openly carried guns, then yes, there would be
less crime, as you pointed out.
Criminals are stupid, that's why they are criminals.
Case in point, the recent attempted escape by one such incarcerated
criminal, who tried to take a hike through an overhead air vent at the
jail, ultimately ending his escapade, by falling into the police
    chief's office.
I want stupid criminals to know I am carrying a weapon and am not an
easy target. If they show their stupidity and go after me anyway,
then they won't have to worry about escaping through air vents, etc.
    My 2 cents, FWIW.

Now Jerry, first of all you need to calm the **** down a little. Maybe
have a beer and a little pink or blue pill. I understand the issue with
a concealed license, and how you can have a problem even with the
imprint of your gun showing. And yeah, I know that not everybody that
has the money for a gun gets to buy one. Hell, I never even said I
anticipated anarchy. You seem to be assuming a lot today. If you had
clicked on that second link I provided you could have gone ahead and
signed the petition showing your support for open carry. Btw, I got to
that link from the opencarry.org web site you cite in your post, just so
you know I DID do a little reading.

I am more concerned with the fact that there are a lot of stupid people
who AREN'T disqualified from gun ownership.

I'm also concerned with permits and background checks. I don't like the
government having an easily accessible list if gun owners. Seems to make
it damned easy to round up all the guns when the gubment decides you
    can't have one.

So you see Jerry, it's like this, in general, I support gun rights, and
in theory, I support gun rights with very little restriction. I just am
not convinced that I support this. Maybe there are facts out there that
will change my mind. That's kind of the point of me posting this here.
Sometimes I ENJOY hearing the other side of a debate. Currently I
haven't heard enough to convince me it's a good idea, but neither have I
heard enough to convince me that it's a horrible idea.

Also, haven't pissed myself around a gun since I was like, 8, maybe.
Though I do get a hard on every time I buy one.

As for my big dick, I consider that a personal matter not open to
    discussion in this forum.

    Tolstoy.

I agree, for the most part, permitted owners are a responsible group, at
least responsible enough to be employed and save up the cash for the
permit and the classes, but the online petition I read says nothing
about permits. Here, I'll quote it: "We hold that all citizens who may
lawfully purchase a handgun be allowed to carry openly in public in the
State of Texas except for those places prohibited by law." Unless
something has changed in the last coupla months that requires a permit,
and not just a background check, to purchase a handgun, this is kind of
a sticking point for me. Now, if it said something like "We hold that
properly trained and certified handgun owners be allowed to openly carry
in public", maybe I could support that. But that's not what it says.
There are tons of immigration issues: ex. If we send em all back, who's
gonna mow my lawn and build my roads? My company can't hire enough
qualified employees, but I can't hire Sahir Babaganush because there are
no more H-1b visas available. etc etc
Illegal immigration involves coming into the country without proper
documentation, or staying longer than allowed.
Going Saturday, leaving around noon, maybe earlier if I skip work again,
as far north as Carlos. Gotta be back early evening for a Bon Voyage
party. I have no idea wtf side of town you are on, but I could be
persuaded to meet somewhere in the middle.

I just generally don't like people, lawfully entitled or otherwise.
Damn you assume a lot about me. Did I say anything like "OMG! WTF!
Nobody should be able to buy a gun! Ever!"?
You are correct. I might very well do that. And if you saw me doing
something stupid in my vehicle you would have every right, and possibly
the responsibility, to call and report that to the appropriate
authorities. Because you have to get a test to get a driver's license.
And driving is lawfully considered a revocable priviledge.
Too late, I already have kids. I would not be totally against a test to
keep the dumbasses from breeding either though.
    The bitch had it coming.
Making assumptions can really **** things up when they replace rational
thinking. But hey, it makes for interesting conversation.
I know that. The question was, what side of town?
"According to the United States Census Bureau, the Houston–Sugar
Land–Baytown metropolitan area has a total area of 10,062 square miles
(26,060 km²), 8,929 sq. mi. is land area, while 1,133 sq. mi. is water
area.; slightly smaller than Massachusetts and slightly larger than New
    Jersey."

I am on the North end off 1960 and 249, sort of.

Is the Hooter's on your end better than the Hooter's on my end?

You Houston boy's thoughts always seem to go to no end.
Morgan sez it's hard to tell the difference.
He's turned nothing down, but a fat boy, and he turned him face down.

Well, last time I went to the one on my end, there was a waitress named
Parsley. (seriously!). And, much like regular parsley, Parsley did
nothing other than dress up the plate a little.

On that note, seems I'm suddenly childless for the upcoming week. If
you'ld like to compare Hooters,(but not moobs) feel free to email me at
this username, with an 816 after it (who the hell knew there would be
815 other BiffB's?) followed by an @ and then either a yahoo or a
hotmail and then a dot and then a com.
