Operating Systems Windows XP

    My daughter has a Dell Inspiron 531 computer AMD 64 processor with
    Windows Vista 32. It runs like shit even after a clean re-install.

    I've got a legit copy of XP (32 bit) - how do I go about wiping the HDD
    to install XP.

    I don't fucking care about Linux.

    How much RAM has it got, & would it not be cheaper (depending on what
    your time's worth) to just get some more?

    FWIW Vista Ultimate 64 absolutely flies on my new box, & is noticeably
    faster than the XP64 it came installed with.
    Wise man.

    Spend a few[1] quid on another gig & bob's yer auntie.

    [1] Just got a gig for my laptop from Crucial for £13. Last time I
    checked it was around £60.

    I don't do Vista, but in XP it's:
    Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->
    Disk Manglement

    Which won't work if you've only got one partition & want to keep the
    existing OS intact, which I suspect is sweller's situation.
