.... everybodys got at least one.

I need a hand please folks. Got a class I'm doing for a
masters degree (yup, you got it, I'm gonna be ed-ja-ma-cated
when I grow up, just like JL - all fulled up with that
fancy booklearnin' malarky!). I have to "conduct a small
survey and analyse and present the results". Basically,
    statistics 101.

It would have been more on-topic for ausmoto if I hadn't
binned the motorcycling-based survey and replaced it with
this one about what operating system, web browser and
software you use on your computer at work and at home<take
    breath>. Sorry 'bout that...

Anyway, I'd be much obliged if all y'all (or even some of
y'all) would be so kind as to spend a few minutes answering
    my silly questions at <http://survey.threefiddy.com/>

    Thanks,

    GB

  6. That second page is not Konqueror friendly, nor are the questions, GB! I had
    to resort to Firefox!

cherist on a bike Pete, sorry 'bout that. I never claimed
to be taking it seriously though (nor did I claim to have
actually tested it with anything other than fah-fahx!)

    GB, thanks for persisting but

Bugger! I thought I'd taken the bit out what flashes "piss off,
loser" on the screen if you don't put "C++" in that question!

That can happen with any survey.

Whether or not this is applicable depends
on what GB is trying to achieve.

A high distinction actually! Ah've a record to uphold!

The defined object of the exercise is to go through the
motions of collecting some data, analyse it, and present
it. Not rocket science. I'm killing one and a half birds
with the one stone by collecting ~some~ stuff that will
be useful in my Masters 'Honours' thesis and possible
    also the PhD (if/when).

Emperor's Nose is an acknowledged risk here. That's mitigated
somewhat by choosing a certain target audience, and that in
turn brings its own problems. Doesn't matter, I'll just use
the universal academic get-out-of-jail-free card! <grin>

To summarize: averaging a large number of wild-arsed guesses doesn't
provide you with a useful number.

You forgot: does the toilet paper hang on the side near the wall or
    away from the wall?
