If I was that concerned and happened to live within an hour of the
    item's location, I wouldn't bother asking here; I'd go and take a
    look.

If not, then I'd either not bid, or withdraw any bid I'd made, If I
    had that much doubt.

    If in doubt, avoid, surely?

  3. It is indeed very nice, and I reckon I'll hav to bid higher. But he does
say it's the same bike in all the ix.

How far is it from your place, probably a good idea to pay a visit
over the weekend and kick the tyres before offering more cash.
Nice weather for a bimble anyway.
I just get a feeling that something is not quite kosher but ICBW.

To me it means the former. And "Full Dealer Service History" implies
to me that all the servicing has been done by the manufacturers main
    dealers.

But that's not according to schedule. It's 3500k miles or 1 year for
    each service.

Not overly fussed. It had a history of all services carried out.
Regardless of what the book says, an effective service interval of 700
    miles is pretty daft.

****. Me. That's a hell of a lot of driving.

I've always assumed some leeway on intervals. For example, the first
service on my R36 was due at 30000km, but it was actually around 35000
by the time I'd got it booked in. But I'd still call that a full
    service history.

:) It's Friday and I'm thinking more about going home than anything else.

I'm tempted to bid for this actually.

It does look nice, I agree, but somehow the original XT500 still looks
    much better, IMO.

If I was ever gonna be tempted back onto powered 2 wheelers, it'd be
on one of them, I reckon.

  13. Maybe the first picture was of the bike in the dealers when the seller
    bought it?

I think it's just the backs of the pads that are red, the caliper
appears to be silver. IIRC those bikes have a twin piston sliding
caliper and the inner side is quite open with an almost full view of
    the pad back

Did you notice that the original pic shows a red brake caliper on the front,
but the others show a silver one?

I agree the distance between the bottom of the rear number plate and the
bottom of the rear mudguard look a different distance, also there appears to
be a different bracket for the rear number plate used.
On the front mudguard is there like a rubber extension (at the side nearest
engine) on one and not the others

Do you think this now an elaborate scam on TOG's part , whereby
there's a spot the difference competition running somewhere and
he's getting ukrm to do the work?

  20. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, SIRPip

No. He reads UKRM once a day, and replies multiple times to every
    thread. Deal with it,
