In the end I did get a Sting, which I took with me when I went down to Devon
a couple of weeks ago[1] - what a lot of fun - extremely fast, pulls a fair
bit, easy to control and turns amazingly fast - the tricks are impressive...

    But...

I wanted something to have a fight with (don't ask me why - I don't know)...
so, in the tradition of all expensive[2] hobbies, I got something else
today - a Blade III 3.0m - not huge, but for the winds round here and what I
    want from it - perfect.

Having just spent the last 90 minutes dragging myself round the park I have
a huge grin on my face - certainly beats going to the gym for 90 minutes -
but boy it's a bit of a handful at times.

    I guess it's a bit like having an RS125 and a GSXR600.

And in the same way, you can keep your >3m GSXR1000 kites for the moment ;)

[1] also did some surfing - badly.
[2] not actually, second hand but looks perfect - £125 including new lines &
handles, which is £175 off the price of a new one :)

OB. bikes - I took the bike to buy it - it was an enjoyable ride through
Reading which included a good look at some of the Reading festival totty.

Might at last have found a use for the Draggin' Jeans I have (as I will
never wear them on the bike).

They're just not very nice to wear - nohing to do with the safety aspect.
