That was a shock. Some spod in a taxi has just delivered my renewed
    passport.

I only posted, yes posted by Royal Mail recorded delivery, the application
    7 days ago.

I had entered the data onto their online thingy[1] so the clerk did not
need to do any typing. Perhaps this speeds things up in Newport...

[1] they then send you a pre-printed form for signature

same thing for me a few months back (well, except it came by special
delivery rather than in a taxi, but it was within a week of sending
    off the application).

Nice to see my employer getting something right, then. I look forward to
them turning their attention to "everything else required to run an IT
    company" in due course.

I remember saying something like that, oh, almost 7 years ago.

On the day I was outsourced, we had two directors in our building to do
a motivational pitch and hand out welcome-pack trinkets. They made a big
deal of how the big difference between them and other BPO firms was
that, and I'll roughly quote here...

"When we take on an account we know we're going to **** it up. So do our
competitors. The difference is we're honest about it and, when we
inevitably do **** it up, we stick it out until we've got it right
rather than bailing out of the contract and running away. Don't believe
me? Look what happened when we took on the passport office."

As motivational speeches go, it was pretty shit.

I'm surprised you didn't murder them both then kill yourself

  8. I'd settle for him just doing the second part. In public for later
    broadcast on yootoob naturally.

    That's a bit harsh isn't it?

I usually resist the temptation to publicly wish anyone dead no matter
how much of a wanker I think they are. Obviously being an atheist
makes me a better person than you are.

Pah. This whole "I hope you die and end up an Internet meme" thing is
clearly documented on the original Christian documents from the 1st
century. Your "peace and love to all men" shit was a later addition made
by the corrupt Catholic church, etc.

...for amateurs. Become a meme before death, that's my advice.

  14. I'm not entirely serious.. I don't see eye to eye with Ogden on a lot
of stuff but I don't think I've ever seriously wished anyone dead in my
    life.
And somewhat humour deficient too. Obviously I'm not allowed to make
jokes - I must remember that.

  15. Pah. Consistency is the sign of a porridge mind. Or is it
wallpaper-paste? Although it's sometimes hard to tell the difference.
Hey - you want me to have good looks, blazing intelligence *and* wit?
    Are you mad?
The impossible we can do straight away, miracles take longer..

You all hate me, I'm so misunderstood. Is it cos I is green?
