    Number 12:
"During the execution, six-inch flames erupted from Tafero's head, and
three jolts of power were required to stop his breathing. State
officials claimed that the botched execution was caused by
"inadvertent human error" -- the inappropriate substitution of a
synthetic sponge for a natural sponge that had been used in previous
executions. They attempted to support this theory by sticking a part
of a synthetic sponge into a "common household toaster" and observing
that it smoldered and caught fire."

(I am so not X-posting this to aadp)

I bet if they executed people using a common household toaster it
would put a lot of criminals off.

I wonder what the Talkie Toaster would make of that.

lots of kitchen electricals could be used for creative executions:

    hand-blenders
    kettles
    electric can-openers

    etc.

"The execution was witnessed by a Florida State Senator, Ginny Brown-Waite,
who at first was "shocked" to see the blood, until she realized that the
blood was forming the shape of a cross and that it was a message from God
    saying he supported the execution."

    Americans are creepy.

Waste of time, really as the Tafero execution is old news on that group.
Much as on UKRM, there is hardly any 'on-topic' discussion, mainly as
all the 'old timers' know each other's views and know that there's
little chance of changing anyone's mind.

So most of us just spend our time ripping the piss out of 'Planet
Visitor' (who has started posting as 'truth'), whom you all know from a
while back, when his inane and vapid cack 'leaked' onto UKRM.

    Indeed.

    Quite.

I think I looked in at AADP once, many years ago. It's a real train
    wreck of a group IIRC.

Mythbusters did this recently. An iron is the daddy when it comes to
"things not to bath with" apparently.

It in fact was a relatively 'intelligent' group (insofar as a group with
a majority of Americans can be 'intelligent') at one point, but the
trolls took over. Google for 'Don Kool' () and you'll
    see what I mean.

There was a small group of anti-death penalty intellectuals in the late
nineties, of which sadly I'm the only one left on the group.

So it's now a free-for-all or as you say, a train wreck.

Prompted by this post, I just had a look, and the first thing I saw
was a posting flagging up Des as a twat of the first order. So it has
its virtues. After that, I viewed a couple of threads and sort of
lost the will to live. Perhaps that's the point.
