OT but desperate for help on this one.....

Im sure youve all realised ive been quiet lately, thank god some will say.

Anyway, this is completely non bike related but im desparate to know if
theres a way to track a person or their email via an ip.

some **** has left a message on the guestbook of our scooter website, now
suffice to say that this ip addy has cropped up on several arsehole messages
which ive deleted but needed to do nothing else.

However, when the person starts accusing a mate who got married of having an
affair and doing it on his stag night, i draw the fucking line well and
truly!

I now want to know who it is, ive managed to get the below from whats
available on the net but basically only tells me that its originated from
the luton area.

Is there any way to find out? ive found www.akiba.com who seem to be able to
email me a report including the address of the computer for eight dollars,
but i wonder if it'll be able to give me the address of the computer or the
server, the latter being little use to me...

Have you tried Googling for that IP?

view Genkisan's profile. It looks like a fairly static IP, which makes
sense if it's NTL broadband.

ive registered on that site and another i found that might be useful so ill

As simonk said that IP address is a transparent cache, so won't help
without some other clues. It doesn't necessarily mean he's anywhere near
Luton either. You really need to get an email from him to get his true
IP.

when but Paul will probably have to have the exact time he left the
message and get heavily legal (sue for defamation or similar,
probably) to get at that info.

The Doc would probably know...
