You have a Ba'ath candidate? That's pretty fucking cool.

We're living under a labour government, whether I find another
worthwhile job is very uncertain. It's been like this for at least the
    last ten years.

    **** that.

I'd rather have Stalin than Brown - at least he could make his fucking
    mind up.

Brown will be toast by tea-time on May 7th if the Tories win a
    majority.

The blood-letting will be undignified, no-holds barred, and lengthy.

And do you think any subsequent Labour government will be any different
to the current one? I don't.

All I know is that when I've lived under a Tory government I've been
reasonably well off with no fears or worries, and when I've lived under
a Labour government I've been in and out of work and never happy with
    the way things are.

The day I vote labour is the day I top myself

I suppose it's the type of work I do that changes things but every
tory government has fucked over manufacturing whereas labour have
    usually left it alone.

The positive side is that thatcher fucked so many people in my
business that I've probably achieved a lot more than I would have
    managed before.

I'll probably vote labour but it'll hurt me because I detest them over
the way they've just wasted their opportunity to make Britain a better
    place for everyone.

The one thing I'd love to see is Brown resign as leader _now_ and
labour select someone more convincing to take them through to the
election. I honestly believe that they'd win with a working majority
if they did so and we might be able to face the next few years with a
    bit more confidence.
    I really, really hope so.

Do you have any really good reasons why you'd rather see the current
bunch of clowns return, and not give someone else a chance to make
things good, or is it as someone else pointed out, just blind prejudice?

With me it's just blind prejudice and greed. This government have
given the go ahead for 20 years worth of work building new missile
subs and new nuclear power stations. That'll keep me going until I
retire if I want to carry on in the same field.

Even though you've already agreed that you disagree with their policies
(and thereby values) primarily because they're the tories, not because of
    the policies?

And you agree with what this current shower of shite have done; as in
sold off gold reserves, raised unemployment, taken us into an illegal
war, implemented scores of liberty-restricting anti-terrorist laws, to
    name jut a few?

I think I'd prefer a Tory government tbh

well...up to a point, Lord Copper.

your statement ignores the out-and-out crooks and the general "me me
me" greedy attitude exhibited by many people.

if one wanted to be negative, one would say that the libs getting in
would provoke a "race to the bottom".

really, we need to do a "Citizen Smith" and commandeer a few tanks (of
course ensuring we do so whilst parliament is actually in session...)

It really isn't you know. Plenty of people in the markets, names you
might recognise from work (Seven Invest, Jupiter etc) are saying a hung
parliament would be the worst possible result for the economy.
Not according to the people concerned.

The way I see it is the current/recent incarnations of the Labour party
have *proved* they're a bunch of lying, thieving, corrupt cunts, pretty
much from day one. Some highlights include:

The promise to ban fox hunting if they won the first term - they didn't
until well into the second term. It may not seem that big a thing in
the grand scheme of things, but it /is/ the reason many people voted
    Labour.

The Chagos Islands - they shat on the inhabitants big time by ignoring
a High Court decision & using the Parliament Act. They even did it on
the day of the local elections to try to hide it.

The CROW act - they spent tens of millions of our money on an
independent study into rights of way use, the study concluded that
motorcycle trail riding was the least damaging of all uses, so the
government completely ignored it & effectively banned trail riding
anyway. Nothing to do with the fact that DEFRA donate money to the
Ramblers Association I'm sure... (i.e. DEFRA are as corrupt as they
    come).

    Iraq.

The current incarnation of the Tories otoh are a completely unknown
quantity. They may be as bad, or even worse, but I'd rather risk that
than have another five years of people we /know/ are corrupt liers.
