I've decided I really need to cut down on the caffeinated beverages.

I have a stinking lack of coffee headache.

Has anyone cut caffeine out? How long did the withdrawal symptoms
    last?

Best pain killer for treating the headache?

Why not wean yourself off by swapping to tea first?

Was about a week of headaches for me - was really stunned that it had
    such an effect.

    Paracetamol worked.

Although depending on your choice, tea can have as much caffeine as
    coffee.

    I didn't have any. Clearly I wasn't hooked.
Depends if it's at the front or back of the head. Ibuprofen usually for
    me.

    **** that!
I've had a mug with half a teaspoon of decaff and half a teaspoon of
    instant.

I've still got a headache. I think I may have to grind some beans.

I don't like tea unless it's got sliced lemon and sugar in it.

Hasn't tea got the same amount of caffeine anyway?

You never had the Saturday afternoon killer headache and worked out
it's because you've not had the same level of cofee as in the week?
Mainly a headache, the shakes, feeling sick and wobbly.
It's hard to judge with me on the irritable front.
    Mmmm espresso.

I've had migraleve as I felt sick as well and was getting the blurry
vision. In fact I should really step away from the computer.

google seems to turn up not..

By means of comparison, a 7 oz cup of coffee has the following caffeine
(mg) amounts, according to Bunker and McWilliams in J. Am. Diet. 74:28-
    32, 1979:

    Espresso 100mg of caffeine
    1 serving (1.5-2oz)

    Brewed 80-135
    Instant 65-100
    Decaf, brewed 3-4
    Decaf, instant 2-3
    Tea, iced (12 ozs.) 70
    Tea, brewed, imported 60
    Tea, brewed, U.S. 40
    Tea, instant 30
    Mate 25-150mg

But this is sceptic data. Since when did the sceptics know how to brew a
    cuppa?

I drink utterly shedloads of tea - I get through half a pound of tea
leaves a month at work and as a family 400 ish bags.

I don't get caffeine withdrawal (not that I've tried) but if I drink
coffee in any quantity I go quite tonto.

    Tea is certainly the way.

    That or water.

I'll go put kettle on then.

The other thing I seem to rememebr is that tea releases caffiene into
the system more slowly, not sure why though.

Sounds like I don't drink as much of it as you, I'm probably averaging 6
large mugs of tea a day.

I'm not the only one that drinks the pots I make - half a pound sounds a
lot but it's only a box.

    Oh, quite easily.

    Good plan.

Christ - I've had that since I got home.

Anyway, this is just willy waggling - at least I'll win the pissing
    contest.

  20. I have only had 4 but I have a humungeous mug and it is undoubtedly
    somewhat larger than yours.

Have I ever mentioned I was once a civil servant, the son of a civil
servant who was also the son of a civil servant? Tea drinking is in my
    DNA.
