Isn't it normal to leave the bag in for around 5 mins?

I don't know, it's a pretty compelling argument for me.

Sound fairly sinister to me. Gestapoesque.

  5. Replying to completely the wrong post, I know, but can someone tell me
how you can have decaffeinated beans?

  6. I actually read that as lack of "coffee headache" rather than "lack-of-
coffee headache. Which I could relate to as caffeine gives me a headache.

  7. True - but less so than most of the other sweeteners (and some like
maltitol give me outstanding amounts of farts..)

So a couple of caffeine tabs washed down with Jolt Cola is out then?

  10. Nah - I do use it every so often when nothing else works. Paracetamol
*does* work on me - it just has unpleasant after effects.

Two of those and I go to sleep and sleep for about 8 hours.. which is
about the same duration as the active phase of the migraine.
    Yup.

  11. Sounds like they read the same script. And ignore the fact that
psoriatic arthritis affects *most* of the joints of the body - all the
hands, all the feet, legs, arms.

Anything other than lying in bed hurt (at that time).
You missed out "rapelling down the side of the Empire State Building".
Well - as I said before mine wasn't quite as bad but he had a very
definate idea of what he was going to do (prescribe
paracetamol/codeine) and nothing I was going to say to him was going to
make an iota of difference. After all, I was just the patient and he
was the one with the fancy medical degree.

Fortunately my GP (like yours) is of a more realistic type and is quite
happy for me to manage my own medication - he seems to think I'm a
sane, sensible and intelligent bloke (that Rohypnol works wonders eh?)
and every session he doesn't have to spend micro-managing me is one he
    can use elsewhere.

  13. Bag? What is this 'bag' you speak of? Tea is made from leaves dammit[1]!
Teabags are the invention of satan!

Although I suspect that teabags do result in higher levels of caffeine
as the leaves are ground much smaller so that they infuse more quickly.

    Phil.

[1] OldestBrother can't use teabags because of his soya allergy - the
teabag itself seems to contain soya protein. So we have started using
leaves as well and the tea tastes a lot better.

Next you'll be saying one should use some kind of old fashioned pot,
instead of a half pint mug.

According to some research that appeared in the news a few weeks ago, you
need to leave the tea infusing for at least 5 mins to get the full whack of
antioxidants. Using a pot is more efficient too.

  18. Because I'm a man of taste and discernment?

It might be oldfashioned but tea made in a pot does taste better - and
the cosy keeps it at the proper brewing temperature for longer. It's
not a horrible knitted one BTW..

The other side of the kettle is my espresso machine - a proper pumped
one. I don't have it very often but when I do I like it to be a
    *proper* espresso.
