OT Doing the ironing. RR

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Work in progress, May 2, 2007.

  1. I've roused myself from my sick bed and staggered downstairs to find a
shirt artfully draped over the keyboard with a yellow post it note
from the eldest saying 'Iron please' stuck to it.

Now I know he muttered something about going to an interview for a
part time job this afternoon so I presume it is for that and he''ll
run in from college, grab the shirt and head to the interview.

Now I'm torn between being a helpful mum and ironing the thing and
writing '**** off do it yourself' on the post it note.

The UKRM way would be the latter yes?

Iron it, but use lots of lavender perfumed water in the iron.

Simple compromise, get out the iron and ironing board, artfully drape shirt
over ironing board and attach post-it-note to iron saying "Here it is".

You forgot UKRM's pedantry. Iron in pleats.

  11. Is the right answer, minus the post it note, I simply pointed. Took me
ages to find the ironing board, which may explain my usually crumpled
    look.

  13. Exactly. I decided I'd make him iron it then run him over to the
interview if that didn't leave him enough time to cycle.
I've been having words with him about planning ahead for years now,
    particularly where revising is concerned.

  14. If he gets it he can keep the money, I decided a long time ago I
wouldn't charge either of my two board. It's not needed to run the
house and they are both good at budgeting and saving already, he may
as well enjoy blowing the money while he can or put some of it aside
    for uni expenses.
This is a very tempting idea though...
