  2. Blue skies and the (remembered) smell of grass[1] does it for me..

[1] The suff you lie on on hillsides. *Not* the stuff you smoke[2]..
[2] Although I've been to enough folk festivals where the two were
    fairly well intertwined.

When we went to see Genesis at Twickenham last year, P decided that she
needed to 'powder her nose'. After about 10 minutes, I was getting a
bit worried as she hadn't returned. Eventually, she made it back to
the seat. She had decided that she would wait for 'a suitable break in
the music' before disurbing the people she would have to get past and
inevitably it happened to be during The Cage/Cimema Show/Afterglow.

Have you considered that the band going off-stage for a few minutes
gives them a chance to catch their breath and prepare themselves to give
their best effort for the audience's favourite songs?

  5. We saw them at Old Trafford (couldn't get Twickers tickets).
    She missed the best bits.

  7. This is true. But it also can break the flow (I remember this from the
brief time I was in a band - long ago in a town far far away..)

    Anyway - that's just a pansy-fo-fo excuse :)
