Me being a pikey and all, I'm looking for the cheapest place to acquire
    (1) a set of (2) Bose Quietcomfort 3 Noise Cancelling headphones. These
seem to be about the 275UKP mark new, and a little cheaper previously
owned. Can any expert here suggest a place that I might procure a set
from a tad cheaper? Ebay has a few.

    Taa.

    (1) preferably legally
    (2) Preferably new

I'm passing through Sofia and thence T5 tomorrow if you want some duty free.

Not 100% sure that Sofia will have them, or T5 arrivals for that.

I will be flying again next month, and am pretty sure they can be had at
    T5 departures.

I've looked all over the world and Bose are very good at controlling
their prices. Buying them directly in the USA (get someone to buy them
for you) seems to be the best bet, they are pretty much £=$ last time I
    checked.

Other than that, the outlet centre at Bicester village sells them at a
    slightly reduced price IIRC.

Yup I bought mine at the Outlet shop near San Fran. as that seemed the
    cheapest option.

There's a Bose shop at the Freeport in Braintree as well.

    Are right.
I'm going that way Saturday so I'll have a look.

Thanks for the offers of getting them DF for me, if Braintree doesn't
look good then I may well take the offer up.

    Cheers.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested that Bose is overpriced crap
and that you would just make yourself look a dick by wearing them.

Possibly, but I have tried the earmuffs in questions and they do work
very well. Better than similar Philips/Sony units. OTOH, **** me, they
    are overpriced!

It's in the middle avenue thing.
No worries. I'll check out what's around this afternoon.

Their noise cancelling stuff is alright.

Also, one of our singers brought along a Bose L1 compact PA to a pub gig
last month, it actually sounded OK. Bizarre piece of kit though.

Indeed cheaper, nowhere near as effective nor as good sound quality as
    the Bose ones I'm afraid.
My 2nd pair have gone phut just out of warranty and Goldring (agent)
doesn't want to know. The first pair went kaput within a week of
ownership and was replaced under warranty.
