A very good point, it is. -- Veggie Dave http://www.iq18films.co.uk "To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." Cardinal Bellarmine
oh well. I'll admit to have been going through "American Gothic" recently - including the four "lost" episodes. It's a guilty pleasure.
I don't think he is. There's a rather well written article from one of the gods of film making here: http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2011/01/post_4.html -- Veggie Dave http://www.iq18films.co.uk "To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." At the BBC, at least, re-versioning is a very specific process. -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) 116 Giulietta 3.0l Sprint 1.7 GTV TS GT 3.2 V6 Triumph Sprint ST 1050: It's blue, see. #www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk
Ah, yes: "A relatively recent phenomenon in television production, re-versioning (also known as reversioning or revisioning) is the process of re-releasing an existing production or an entire series, updated in some form, as a "new" show. It is an alternative to a straight rerun of a series. This process should not to be confused with a retool, revival, reboot, remake, adaptation or spin-off of an existing production or an entire series as those actually are new." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Re-versioning
I didn't think it was that bad. But despite "people" saying how great Depp was, he seemed quite restrained to me, like he wasn't allowed to give it the full crazy.

It's OK. We'll take him. "Give us your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Wikipedia is, in this case as many others I am told, wrong. Very wrong. The repeats and re-versioning department does indeed deal with repeats, but the re-versioning is specific to (for example) cutting down a 30 minute prog to fit the 27 minutes (or whatever it is) available on Dave. Then there's the edits for islamic countries and so forth. I thought we had some other beeb people here. I may not be 100% correct, but when I was there last year, I learnt this as the project I was specifically working on had to be able to give access to all the re-versions, as well as the raw cut(s) and probably the raw video as well... -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) 116 Giulietta 3.0l Sprint 1.7 GTV TS GT 3.2 V6 Triumph Sprint ST 1050: It's blue, see. #www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk
