really? I mean, I'm not siding with Kermode particularly, but I can't think of a a 3D movie I've seen that I thought was /better/ because it was 3D rather than 2D. And I did like "Avatar". But not Jackass 3D (that nearly had me puking!).
sure, it really worked for that film. I saw it twice, actually, and I agree the production values and concept were fabulous. It's just a pity the plot was a bit lame. And for an SF movie, the "S" was pitiful. I suppose if the "F" was "Fantasy", that'd let it get away with it. I've not seen that - isn't that a kid's film?
So it seems. but not just me as my spelling hero also appears to have feet of clay and that you should be more concerned about.
A good remake makes everyone forget the original... IIRC someone (Will Smith?) bought the rights for an american version of "Bienvenue chez les ch'tis!"
Oops, this really shouldn't have been on that list as it's utter, utter shite. -- Veggie Dave http://www.iq18films.co.uk "To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." Cardinal Bellarmine
Which, even though it's (IIRC) the biggest film in French cinema history, is not available officially in the UK... -- Veggie Dave http://www.iq18films.co.uk "To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." Cardinal Bellarmine
