    Carnot's theorem, 1834; Navier-Stokes equations, 1822; equilibrium in
solids, 17th century (Bernoulli): the basic science you need to build
a motorcycle existed before 1850. The fundamentals underlying that
science (Newton's laws, conservation of energy) existed before 1750.

Oh, it was a good thing. She'd been in hospital since October and had
    no quality of life anyway.
Ooh, I want to make a recording for mine.
We had lots of Methodists but they didn't get a chance to do anything.

Only to ride down them. Bollocks to climbing up as well as getting a
    lift.

I have a 'theory'. The public were egged on to believe the story because
the media, doing what it does best - sensationalism. Got wind of his work
through some mechanism or other and fired it squarely out into the public
domain. Long before his work had a chance to be properly peer reviewed.
I don't even blame him really, for the initial outcry. His crime was then
to not disabuse the public about the state of his research and instead
    to run with it.

  11. We have some Lindt Excellence 99% here. It's an acquired taste - but I
    am starting to acquire it!

Just brought a shipping order back from Zurich too.

It's fun watching people taste it for the first time; they think it's
going be like dark chocolate, only more so... then they realise...

I met a physicist once, does that count?

Why put effort into thinking about things that aren't real?
