    Fookin'ell, not arf.

    I have a cunning plan...
I'm going to revisit all the reading material I've been through in
my search for new computer hardware. This time adopting a reading
attitude of rigorous theme-oriented nonliteralism. It's crazy, but
    it just might work.

I think it was translated from Persian by Babelfish.

you've got to wonder if the mystics realise how ironic it is that when
a rationalist tells them they're wrong, they can't mount a rational
    rebuttal.

    Ok, I'll bite.

"It's blatantly obvious to the initiate that the mystery religions have
in common the use of entheogens that produce the experiencing and
phenomena that are so fantastically allegorized in mythic form as
    miracles..."

    I gave up after that.

To whom is it blatenyly obvious, exactly? Not I.

Me I have better things to do than **** about worrying what the likes of
you lot would be saying about me after I am gone.

Try concentrating on what you have now, it is called life so fucking
    live it.

You'll have missed this bit then

"These two positions, "science" and "religion" as conceived in the mid
20th Century, are part of the same thing, the same stunted way of
thinking. Such scientists are, in the end, every bit as dimwitted,
blindly ignorant, and narrow-minded as the religionists they battle
against and define themselves in terms of."

It's a good rule of thumb not to take reading recommendations from an
    Earth Mother.

Well I never. Another short-circuited neuron. Amazing how the stuff you
think you know turns out to be rubbish.

All the same, I still think that's what happened. For comparison, I offer
the first stanza having run it forth and back through an Arabic translator
(I couldn't find a Persian one in 30secs of looking).

"You measured time the [[mswrlss]] and accepting for the measurement.
You [kyyft] your administrative behavior oasis face of the path from as
your cross-eye hours of hours and chapters reconciled for.
From time you made current on who bank of you sat and watched him flows."

It's a bit pidgin, but I still submit that it's no more incomprehensible
    than the original.

    a) it wasn't a recommendation, I merely said some of it was
    interesting.

    b) I think you mistake the dynamic.

  20. "There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your
    [lack of] philosophy" (my paraphrase).
It was interesting. I disagreed with almost all of it but then I would
    wouldn't I?
