Chav chocolate: no real flavour other than sugar with a tinge of milk.
Unsatisfying, makes one want to eat more.
Posh chocolate: stronger flavour per gram, hence can eat less to get same
    (or more) satisfaction.

I have thought about this point for some time and argued the toss with
mates over far too many pints about it. I believe that it's only because
it wasn't in our textbooks when we were at school. If you performed the
double-slit experiment to pupils, the quantum mechanic world (no matter
how counter intuitively insane it is) would stand the test of reason.

You don't have to tell me. SWMBO teaches Art.
Personally I vote this the greatest, most significant (technique)
    painting of all time:

I wasn't explaining your tastes. I was explaining the point, as you don't
really see it. Glad to be of service.

I've seen you eat a cup-a-soup; your opinions on food are invalid.

All of that applies to analysis of text as well. I suppose in
simplistic terms it depends if you're more attracted to the words or
the images as to where the creativity (and that's a whole different
conversation) is expressed and appreciated. And that's elaving out
those strange people who go the other way...
Oh go on, just a little bit.
I'd pick sculpture over painting I think. Though that's subject to
    change.

  9. Or as the Bible puts it:

The living die and the breath returns to God who gave it (my
    paraphrase!)
Indeed. "Living in an eternal now".

    Indeed. It is sadly overlooked.

    Eh, what?

As I said earlier, I didn't read beyond the first couple of sentences.
Whether it's any more or less bullshit than any other pseudo-religious
    garbage I've no idea.

I'll join you in the Cadbury Triumvirate. Nothing else comes close. I
have heard that some people eat dark chocolate, but then some people
eat Marmite, so there's clearly no accounting for taste.

It's certainly kicked up some stuff. I've moved up a generation.
Western Christian Modernity is lacking in rites of passage, I make the
most of the sanctioned ones that come along.
Methodist derivitative, drinking after the service will be sadly
lacking, I'm doing mine the night before and the evening after.

  14. Which is strange - cos I don't. Sure - I can appreciate the artistry in
it (Cheryl bought me a pencil-drawing of an Arthurian scene for one
birthday and I enjoy looking at it because of the skill of the artist)
but it certainly doesn't move me in any real sense.

Sound now - that's very different. I can get lost in listening to music
very easily. Or reading a good book.

  16. Poetic way of saying "don't do this, it's futile". Minus punctuation.

It's like cryptic crosswords. I can't do them to save my life because I
don't know the rules and conventions that they operate under. But I'm
sure I could learn and I have sufficient brain processing power that
    I'm sure I *could*.

Given your willingness to take part in these philosophical discussions,
I think the bit left after the "pretty much" is more important to you
than you are willing to admit.

Anyway, I have to go and resurrect, or at least resuscitate, a genuine
late 70's Puch Grand Prix moped tank, that I am trying Lozzo's, Asda's
best, phosphoric acid treatment on[1], ready to go on the "Forgotten Era
    Morini" project.

[1] twenty year old dried out Bardahl two stroke oil, and rusty bits.
