I win £10 on the "guess the day" office sweepstake.

I'm still smarting from losing out on the "guess the week" Queen
Mother sweepstake, that was a double rollover with a £104 jackpot.

Thora Hird went the day after our shower unit packed up and I made enough to
buy a new unit *and* have a plumber install it.

It's nice to think that people can go on giving joy (and hot water) even
after they've shuffled off this mortal coil.

I nearly spat my coffee out this morning; I had Planet Rock
on the radio and they had the news on and went straight
    into Blue Oyster Cult!

Not as bad as when some archbishop was calling her a saint on CH4 news
    earlier

.... maybe more of a fingers down the throat moment TBH

Seeing as she miraculously found god in her final days, I wouldn't be
surprised if she isn't canonised as part of some recruitment drive for
    lower class potential god botherers.

"A shining example to show people how to go on to the next life without
    fear" or something like that

That would be the reflections off her head then ...

I thought of UKRM when reading that on the BBC website on Sunday
morning. Little surprise that the responses so far have been the 'alpha
men' trying to prove that they're 'hard' by celebrating her death.

The 'media circus' (the excuse given by most who are 'relieved' that
she's dead) wasn't that hard to avoid, was it? I get my news from
sites like _The Guardian_, _The Independent_, NPR.org etc., and she was
given little coverage on them. 'course, if you read _The Mail_, or _The_
_Sun_, then you've only yourself to blame.

However much of a 'fat, retarded racist' she was, I still feel that
getting terminal cancer at 27 and not living to see your sons grow up,
is a pretty fucking bum deal. And I don't think she 'deserved' that.
