You took an approach that you were happy with even though you knew it
may have cost someone their job and potentially their home.
I think we both know what I'd consider assistance from you but you'd
have to go to Switzerland for it to be legal.

  4. Consider that he's making himself look an arse, and he really *is* an
arse if he thinks I'm wriggling.

He *deliberately* tried to stitch someone up, purely out of malice.

    End of.

Yes yes, but he's just enjoying you letting him rake it up again.
It ended for me some years ago - if only you'd let it too...

  6. Well, fair enough, if you'd rather. Does no harm to remind people what a
    posionous deranged individual he is.

Which reminds me - if anyone wants to see the email relating to why he
had to leave the school in France, they only have to ask.

So killfile anyone who replies to him or **** off to somewhere where
they have moderators. It's your choice.

It's a balancing act between avoiding some of the more dull/iritating
posters on here and missing bits. I do visit one moderated place,
singletrackworld.com, and it's not really any better. Funny thing is I
can go away for a couple of weeks and mark as read 1000's of post on my
    return without a second thought.

My company is pretty cool in that respect. Whilst they don't expect
people to abuse the system, they recognise and accept (I think
"encourage" is too strong a word) that people need to unwind and surf
    the 'net.

Bit like the recent issue in France where Zoë Renault's were
complaining about the suggested name for the new Renault Ze (or
    whatever it's now called.)

I think that's the case. Usenet isn't as important as it used to be.
If it ever was important, that is.
