  1. Well well well.. I'm surprised I haven't been exposed to it at some
point in the past (mind you my psoriasis was never severe until it went
internal and started munching on my synovial membranes..)

  2. If it's anything like what I take for psoriatic arthritis the nastiness
will come back once the active compound falls to a low enough level.

  3. They pushed up the price of the domain registration, so it's probably
expired. Try http://www.toastyhamster.freeserve.co.uk the .org was just
    a pointer anyway.

  4. I *wish* I'd taken his number. I gave him my card and said if he ever
    wanted to sell it...

Oh well, maybe he'll be there this year.

  6. One suggestion: Himself has high blood pressure, and has regular check ups.
He's also on assorted medications. His (excellent) GP could not work out why
the BP was still high. Anyhow, when he ended up in hospital last year, they
took regular checks every twenty minutes and found that, as expected, it was
high in the morning and down to almost normal during most of the day. He
then cross checked this using one of those small home BP devices - which was
cross checked against the GP's machine. Long and the short is that he shows
GP a spreadsheet of his BP readings - which she is pretty pleased with - and
it's a far better and more accurate representation of the real picture.

  8. From my spreadsheet:
    Systolic: 115.38 + 0.0016X
    Diastolic: 74.39 - 0.3214X
    Pulse Rate: 80.76 + 0.4159X
where X is the number of units of alcohol taken in the previous day.
Mind you, there's a lot of scatter, but in general it has no effect on S,
reduces D and raises pulse rate.

I've obviously mentioned I worked on that )

hardly designer though, mixture of tenormin & and diuretic.

My mum was on tenormin for a while but it gave her absolutely huge
mood swings. my brother is currently on it...thinking about it....it
might explain why he's getting divorced!

GOD people here sound like they're about to push up the daisies. Bet
the next subject that comes along will be pensions and prepaid funeral
    plans.

Come to think of it I recently statrted the Statins, am drawing a
pension and have made all the necessary arrangements. But the blood
    pressure is good.

My heart diagnostician was of the opinion that this was the case for all
forms of alcohol delivery and that a pint of wife beater or a large
brandy taken an hour or so before bedtime would do exactly the same,
the cause being the mild soporific effect of the alcohol.

He did concede however that there may be certain chemicals peculiar to
red wine which would have a synergistic effect but didn't see any reason
why these should not be present in more or less *any* fermented
undistilled drink, particularly those deriving from fruit.

  16. Wotcha.
Easier said than done. My job involves very strange hours - there's no set
finish time. This means I tend to eat as and when I can - usually in greasy
spoon transport cafes. I have started cooking healthier grub at home, and
    do feel better for it.
I must be doing something right - I had my diabetes "MOT" last Wednesday and
they've reduced my medication down to one tablet a day.
I grab pizza about twice a year, if that, so I reckon I'll be ok for a while
    :)

Don't go stupid with the no/reduced salt thing (as a diabetic). Too little
and you'll get cramp like **** when you're in bed.
