.... especially when its so close and loud that it almost seems sub bass and shakes the house - thud thud thuddity rumble etc etc and gubbins. Right, lets see if I can reproduce the photo below with my new camera, tis a bit lighter now. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g195/dwbrown/Misc Stuff/?action=view¤t=10250002.jpg

I can just see that in a _really_important_meeting (wiv suits and things): ..."and now Mr Chairman I'd like to introduce Mr Thor, our new Group Marketing Strategist". He's going to advise us as to exactly what we are meant to be doing....and he is *rather* stern so pay attention or you *will* be struck down etc... ! I thought you didn't do car maintenance? JB
We had comedy rain and thunger here too. I've never seen so much lightening with so much rain in England. It seemed like somewhere far more tropical for a bit.
and for once I timed my ride home without getting wet. huge storm at work before i left, huge storm at home after i arrived. phew! -- Adie (replace spam with nickname to reply) UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/ keeper of the ukrm faq for my sins YZF-R1: ZX9R E1 MRO#11 BOTAFOF#7 BOTAFOT#130 DIAABTCOD#17 MIB#24 YTC#16 BOB#15 ex-UKRMMA#22 BOMB#11

In A monotreme with taste, there's unusual. I'm seriously considering putting a larger motor in my Rangie, a 5.2 with the turbo could well be amusing. -- Pete M - Using the Scouse Side of the Force - Golf GTi Mk2 2.0 8v Wood and Pickett Range Rover V8 Turbo Golf GTi Mk1 (For Sale) OMF#9 Currently listening to The White Stripes
In JD Engineering were the ones who supercharged the Rover lump AFAIK. They weren't that reliable. Mine's turbo and seems ok. Because that's what's in the latest spec Range Rovers. Make sure it's the 5.7. The 5.0 isn't impressive but sounds great. No worse on fuel than a 3.9 from what I've heard. -- Pete M - Using the Scouse Side of the Force - Golf GTi Mk2 2.0 8v Wood and Pickett Range Rover V8 Turbo Golf GTi Mk1 (For Sale) OMF#9 Currently listening to The White Stripes
In The 4.4 BMW lump was considered "too weedy" so they dropped it. Besides, the Jag lump is one of the best on the planet. It was a close thing between an Overfinch and the turbo one I've got now. the Overfinch was a 5.0 and felt a bit .... flat. A good tune up might have restored its go but it was a choice of carb Chevy or injected turbo Rover lump. Figured I could always bolt the turbo to a bigger Rover motor. The Overfinch sounded fucking awesome though. In Heh, LPG is a good thing for Rangies. Much better than putting Dr Diesels Evil Invention in. -- Pete M - Using the Scouse Side of the Force - Golf GTi Mk2 2.0 8v Wood and Pickett Range Rover V8 Turbo Golf GTi Mk1 (For Sale) OMF#9 Currently listening to The White Stripes
I can see why, having had an LPG Rangie for a little while. I'm not *that* big a fan of them but with an LPG kit they're almost back in the "affordable to run" bracket. Indeed you aren't, they're asking if your vehicle is LPG-fuelled even if you turn up on a bike.
People won't be able to afford fuel so will have to live nearer their work. We'll be back to the horse and cart before long.
