OT I try not to get angry, really I do

  1. but sometimes it is just hard.[1]

Angry is not good for me, it is the wrong sort of stress and other than
avoiding anger producing situations in the first place, the only way I
have of dealing with it is a sort of Ostrich tactic which can be very
counter productive in all manner of ways.

[1] The mongvan, how long ago did it break? It has taken all this time
to get it off the drive to a garage.

This is the third bunch of muppets charged with the job and when I
phoned, at 18:15 last night, to enquire why the mongvan was still on the
drive I was told that their truck was "stuck in traffic"!!

Stuck in traffic? In fucking Essex? And can't get to me before
bedtime? Yeah right. On the bright side moment: now I know that I am
dealing with a liar I can proceed accordingly.

It is worth pointing out that the reason I contacted this 3rd lot in the
first place is because the mother of a friend of mine hasn't sued them,
yet. Believe me, given what I know of the woman this *should* be a
recommendation of the highest order but I am beginning to wonder if this
isn't more a comment on the blokes ability to deal with hysterical
    wimmin.

Hey ho, we have interesting times coming, I can feel it in me water.

    Not good.
At 18:15 on a week day, when every **** and his wife is spilling out of
    London, past your place... yes.
Ah well you see, they will have, like all these companies, been fitting in
as many jobs as possible, you see.

You, sitting at home will have fallen lower down their priorities, than say
the AA or similar if they are sub-contracted to them, in terms of 'we have a
mother with two screaming brats, stranded on the hard shoulder of the M25'.

It's not good, and I'm certainly not justifying their actions, but that is
how it works in that game unfortunately.

Anyway... how far did it need to be towed - couldn't you have got someone
with a 4x4 or hefty TD, to drag it to wherever?

C'mon. This is a local bloke doing local work and there were no
"unusual" hold ups in this part of the world yesterday. What I got told
    was utter fucking bollox.

This is nothing to do with the big recovery firms. This is either the
garage itself or a local freelancer doing the work and it was booked
    last Thursday.

My plan calls for the garage doing the work to collect. Theoretically
much simpler for me and no inconvenience or obligation to others
    involved.

August wasnt it. Or was it before that.
Oh. Not as good at sussing the liars out face to face anymore then.

Just as a point, have you seen the traffic that builds up at that end
of Basildon when all the chav workers leave the shops at 5pm. Fecking
horrendous it is. And at the A127 you get all the chav workers from
Romford and such going to their homes in chavvy Southend meaning the
traffic is nose to tail for ten miles at least and travelling at no
    more than 10 mph.

Course, wouldnt expect you to know that, stuck at home waiting to find
something else trivial to moan about ;-).
I dont think he is that brilliant at dealing with hysterical wimmin,
and I did warn you that he is so full for work that keeping within 24
hours of a deadline can be a bit hard for him (more like 36 - 72). If
you are prepared to deal with this in a non aggro/stressed way then it
    isnt a problem is it?

Bearing in mind the other two sets of muppets have taken a month and
the Mongvan is still there I wouldnt have thought 24 hours was an
    issue.
Well make sure you go before you come round next - I dont want little
(or big for that matter) puddles of pee on me sofa.

6/7 weeks, I dunno. I don't really care any more either.

10 days wasted on the first one, three weeks on the second, another week
or so of odd days in between being an Ostrich and nearly week to get
    this far with #3.

I never was. Which is why I am a sucker for a used bike salesman.
It is nothing, it is 5 o'clock SE Town turn out traffic, there for half
an hour and gone. It takes a cage only a few minutes to get through the
whole lot. How long was the longest ever drive home you had from
Chelmsford? Or where you work now for that matter?

Same again, there for an hour so and nothing of note either before or
after. There simply is not the level of traffic to use the excuse for
delays of more than half an hour with any credibility.

    Snot that.

The van is going to take about week at best to assess and fix and that
is not firm until such time as he gets it apart and sees the extent of
the damage. If it is a straight forward head gasket it is the original
week if not then it will be longer. Another week if the head needs
skimming or it could be many weeks if it needs a new block from Japan.
I am prepared to be quite philosophic about this bit.

The doing of the job is a variable, the getting the van to the workshop
is a fixed and it didn't happen and it hasn't happened (until this
morning) three times in a row. It pisses me off.

Snot. The porkies about the traffic is an issue. It has left me
disappointed when I shouldn't be. The bloke on the phone giving the
distinct impression that he hadn't got a clue my van was due in didn't
help much either and that made me angry.

Actually it is a lot more than that. The basic tale is that I have been
fucked about by two consecutive firms and don't wish to have my
confidence in the third lowered anymore than what we might call
"industry standard". Sadly the start to our relationship has not been a
good one and my confidence is damaged and it is nothing I have done. I
don't want to have a row with the bloke but he has put me in a situation
where I must question what he is doing and if I do that it will be a
shouting match and I will be the loser. If I keep my gob shut and let
it ride there will always be the suspicion that I have been had over by
a shyster. A lose lose situation for me and it is not of my making. I
find this frustrating and that makes me angry.

    Too late.

IME the traffic is much heavier than you suggest, but what would i
know. I only travel in the opposite direction - thankfully - and see
    it sitting there.

Longest journey to/ from Chelmsford - 2 1/2 hours. Normal was 50 mins
A quick journey passed in 30 mins. It was quicker in school holidays
    though.

Longest journey to/from Romford - I gave up after 3 hours and went
home (M25 issues).Averaget was 1hr 15 mins and outside of rush hour
    it took 20 mins.

I now go against the rush hour traffic, and it takes 15 mins in the am
and 15 mins in the pm. The queues of traffic in the opposite direction
is nose to tail and seems to be the same from about 4pm through to
    6:30pm.
Its gone now has it. Thank **** for that ;-). I only hope for yours,
his and my sake that he removes his finger from whichever orifice it
is stuck in and gets on with it.
