    nice simple numbers that anyone can understand. Sesame Street was
    more sophisticated.

    Whereas the new TomTom does the opposite:

    "Cross the roundabout, first exit, A three hundred and twenty-nine."
    NOBODY says that. I can see that A40 = A-forty, A400 = A-four hundred
    and A4000 = A-four-thousand, but all the numbers in between should
    surely be A-four-oh-one, and so on.

    Programming the system to read discrete numbers would have been easier
    to do as well, IWHT.
