    That's something I wouldn't mind doing.

Is it possible to keep a puppy becoming a dog? Or stop a kitten becoming a
    cat? (I know, sledgehammer).

That's justifiable enough ... if you want to keep a pet, what's wrong with a
    pocket sized kid?

Neutering at a suitable age stops them developing many adult traits
    such as aggressiveness.

Best to rip her nails out, so she can't ever scratch herself.

Indeed, many people dream of it.

Animals or children? I was aggressive at about five or six so don't
think aggression in humans is age related.

No thanks, I'm trying to give it up.

You're probably right; my version "feels" more right to me. Who am I
    to argue, however?

Work in progress banged the rocks together and they said :
They are doing it to improve the quality of their lives.

If she were allowed to continue to grow normally, involvement in
activities is perfectly possible, no difference to her, but more
    difficult for the carers.

marina banged the rocks together and they said :
We know you're not alone. You've got Owen.

And taking that into account, the rest is easily forgiven. :)

Blimey Ace, that was a modern cultural reference. Well, 1999. Still,
nearly in the twenty first century. Well done.

So, what in the name of hell is your point of view then? Would you like
a pet 'pillow angel' ? What if it where your child? This would not
happen if folk had any kind of thought process.

On the contrary. WIP's post seems to have provoked a great deal of
thought, and some well-balanced responses to a difficult question -
most of it in direct opposition to your simplistic diatribes.

  18. And I realised I posted and ran without adding my 2p. So here it is.

'Pillow angel' as a nickname - it sounds like a brand of doll.

I can understand removing the womb. The child would be in discomfort
that she didn't understand (think of a three month old baby with
colic) and it is messy and she isn't going to be in a position where
she decides she'll need her fertility. Taking the appendix out while
they are there - saves risk of appendicitis later I suppose.

Removing the breast buds - that creeped me out. The reason given was
so she could lie on her front comfortably. I'm not exactly lacking in
the breast department and I've never noticed it being uncomfortable to
    lie on my front. <shrug>

The actual keeping her small - purely for parent's convenience. No
medical benefit. This aspect, out of all of it, is the one that
disturbs me the most. So, what other inconvenient aspects of children
    should we change?

Not the best example of ruling their entire lives for many years, given that
the parents have split up and the kid may be going into foster care.

    1) Fit a mute button on the vocal cords.
    2) Built in Taser for when you really, *really* want to be left alone.
    3) May as well wire in a mobile phone whilst you're at it too.
