    That of course leads to enormous competitive presures between acrohomic
    companies.

    Fortunately there aren't too many of them. It's sad about Vincent and
    Velocette, of course. The commercial war between them was a tragic
    affair. No more so than that between Brough and BMW, of course, but BMW
    were a lot more cunning and there were always those rumours of secret
    government[1] support.

    [1] Not the last time that's happened, of course: how else can one explain
    the survival of Harley-Davidson in the presence of Honda?
