OT Midi software

    Hi,

I'm after easy to use MIDI software to plug my keyboard into the PC and
record bits and bobs. It needs to be able to (easily) allow me to record a
snippet which I can then correct to make the notes the correct length (as my
timing is crap). Multiple tracks, simple copy/paste, etc.

I've tried CUBASE, which I find highly tricky to do anything sensible in,
and another which I can't remember the name of [1] which came highly
recommended, but couldn't do simple things like cutting chunks out of
    tracks, or resizing notes.

So any recommendations would be appreciated. Free software is good.

[1] I could just before I wrote this, but as I got the crucial bit of the
post, it went never to return.

I use Cakewalk, always found it easy to use and has most of the bells and
    whistles.

They don't seem to do a trial version?

  5. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
They used to, iirc, but haven't seen one for ages. Otoh, I'm sure I have
a cover CD or two with lite versions on.
