Richard Thompson, one of my favourite guitarists and a pretty good
songwriter is profiled on BBC2 tonight. 11.35pm.

I'll have to wait for it to come on BBC2. We have cable TV but it is the
"free" analogue pack that comes with NTL phone rental.

Just had a Richard Thompson doc on BBC2. Very
    enlightening/entertaining.

Have this on video to watch.
Saw the end of this. Will keep an eye out for it appearing on BBC2 or
    being repeated on BBC4.
Jim White - I flagged it up in the caff, didn't know there were any
fans in here. I need to watch it again as various aspects of it
sparked off conversations and we missed chunks.
And illuminating on the fundamentalist xtian hold on the south.
Thanks for the link - good interview.
And scary. Parts of 'Preacher' the comic/graphic novel is set in this
    environment.

Ahh, missed it, sadly. Although I did see a sismilar program a couple
of years back - was it just a repeat of that?

    Classic stuff.

It was made for a series on BBC4. Obviously, a lot of the footage was from
the BBC archives but the interviews were recent.

Swarbrick looks in a bad way considering he's not even 60 yet.

Yeah, but he's looked in the same bad way for a good 10 years now.

Wasn't he once erroneously reported as having kicked the bucket in Coventry?

Or, as he put it in his public statement afterwards, "It's not the first time
I've been reported as dying in Coventry"

Abreviations have a long history in the Christian church. Actually, they
    pre-date the Christain church.

That's a lovely typo, Verdi. It puts me in mind of the marks on
ancient items, cloth in particular: the origin of the "touching cloth"
phrase - "Look Dad, I've shat in my shroud" - otherwise known as
    "squeezing a Turin out".
