Is there a way to make a new tab open BEHIND the current tab?

Opera has this as an option when you right click - but I can't find similar
    in Firefox.

Basically I tend to read through a web page, opening links in it I find
interesting to read after the main one - but FF is a pain in the bum for
this as it keeps opening the new tab in front of the current window.

    Suggestions?

Tools -> Options -> Tabbrowser options
Check the "load in background" boxes.

Providing you have installed the appropriate tabbed browsing
    updates/extensions.

    dwb expressed the following:
If you go into options and then advanced. Have you got 'select new tabs
    opened from links' ticked?

  6. Preferences | Advanced | Tabbed Browsing, uncheck "Select new tabs opened
    from links".

And clicking on an open tab will close it. One of the most useful things
    ever.
