OT : Paging those sharedealery types.....

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Brownz (via Gurgle Gruppez), Feb 9, 2011.

  1. So, I was clearing out some old folders the other day and came across
a share certificate in my name for 110 Shares with TMN Group plc. I
seem to remember getting the shares free for some reason.
It looks like the company was aquired by another sometime in 2006.
Do I need to get my certificate changed ? or have I lost those
    shares ?

Get on to the Company Secretary of the aquiring company.

Indeed. Though they may well be held 'electronically' by a share
registration setup such as Equiniti. You can usually fill in a form
certifying that the share certificate has been lost, so long as they
have you on their records. This may be at a previous address though and
if the OP didn't notify a move that needs sorting first.

Looks like it is/was administered by Capita or is this not the TMN Group
    plc the OP seeks?

    <swerve>

I have a piddling small holding in a US company, the shares are
registered with a broker over there. They now want to charge an
'inactivity fee' of $100/year, which will pretty soon diminish the
    shares to 0.

Can I just ask them to send me the certificate?

Yes. However, given they're US shares, I'd be inclined to sell them
    and buy something here.

  6. Aye, Capita look after most of mine, so I'll give em a buzz tomorrow
    and see what they say.

    Ta.
