IIRC, LA Is a great big freeway, why not put a hundred down and buy a
    car?

Who knows, in a week or two they'll prolly make you a star...

You reckon it's better than Virgin UC? Sadly I've never had the
opportunity to try the latter, but I agree that the new club world is
    excellent.

They screwed me around recently, though - was in NJ for a few days
last month and due to LHR connections went out on a JFK flight, which
I knew would have the new seats, but I wasn't sure if my planned
return from Newark would do as well. So cue several calls to BA who
eventually informed me that yes, the Newark flight would also have the
new seats. For various reasons I arrived for the flight about three
hours early (so would have had plenty of time to drive back in to JFK)
and enjoyed the lounge, as one should, with the stewards keeping my
champagne glass going, and breezed onto the flight looking forward to
a nice meal and a few hours kip, only for that to turn to "****, shit,
buggery" when I got on board.

Bastards. Got maybe an hour's dozing and was fucked for the first few
    days of our holiday.

  5. Returning from Barbados over night Virgin Upper:

    Very tasty stewardess:
"How would you like to be woken up in the morning sir?"
    Me
    Thoughts: BJ?
    Very tasty stewardess:
"Coffee, tea or perhaps a fruit juice of your choice?"

Just as well as J was in the next 'unit'.

I have found that the Virgin flights I've been on, always had a happy
    crew.

  7. Following up had a nice helpful reply from the concierge at the Fairmont.

    Dear Mr. Brown
Thank you for your interest in Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and thank you for
your inquiry into the best way to get to the hotel via public
    transportation.
Basically, there are two ways to get to here: by shuttle and by train.
For traveling by train, look for the BART Station at the airport and take it
towards the Millbrae Caltrain station (about 10 minutes).
From Millbrae, travel south for about one hour to the San Jose Diridon
    Station.
From the Diridon Station, the best thing is to take a taxi cab to the
Fairmont Hotel..which would take about 5 minutes.
The whole trip will cost you no more than $15.
The other option is by shuttle.
There are two companies we use: Super Shuttle (650) 246-8942 and VIP Shuttle
    (408) 986-6000.
Both will charge around $40 to get to the Fairmont and since it is a
shared-ride situation, it will take roughly an hour or more in travel time.
Give them a call to set up the details of your trip.
Hopefully this is a help to you. If you have any further questions, please
feel free to give us a call here at the Concierge Desk.

Long shot but does anyone know any good bars/hangouts/different eateries in
San Jose - plodding distance from the Fairmont ?
I meeting a mate who works at the SFO KPMG Office and want to suggest eating
somewhere he may not have been before.

The coffee shop at the Fairmont is pretty good. Gordon Biersch is good
but fucking noisy. Scott's Seafood across the street is good. Original
Joe's (Italian) south of the Fairmont a block or so is good. There's a
few on San Pedro Street but I don't remember the names.

where you are, but I'll gladly get a cold one in if you're in the vicinity.
