Tangential at best, and old hat now the likes of Amazon are doing DRM-
free MP3 downloads. Generally cheaper than iTunes, too.

Odds are by the time it comes in the post, I either don't really want it
any more or I've already downloaded a hooky copy to tide me over.

Impulse buys make the world go around.

Sounds like it has the potential to be a total supergroup wank-off.

"Bass guitar, keyboard, piano, keytar, slide guitar, mandolin."

    Useful.

given that every other member of the 'Vultures is at least a part-time
member of "Queens of the Stone Age" you've got to ask why this band
isn't just called "Queens of the Stone Age feat. John Paul Jones".

Musically: same old, same old (literally).

Actually, I wasn't think of the end-user, I was thinking of Apple.
They make so much money for iTMS that they could run a loss on the
    hardware quite happily.

Although they're not, they're making shitloads on that as well.

    Didn't know that.

But it was easier as I happened to have my iPhone and iPod plugged
into iTunes at the time :)

    I used to think that.

Now I think, "where the **** do I put 1000 cds?". I ended up ripping
them all to iTunes and storing them on a NAS and the physical media
are in the loft. So if I'm not going to see the media any more,
what's the point of buying it in the first place.

And I'm a tone-deaf non-audiophile so the quality of compressed music
    is fine for me.

    But that would be wrong.

I loved series 1 and 2 - I'm having real problems engaging with series
    3.

Just saw the Milestone in the office today. Very very nice. I've had
experience with a lot of HTC devices (not the HD2 though). I'd ditch
the HTC for the Motorola for a couple of reasons:

    1. The Android interface is really nice, the tactile screen is smooth,
the phone is fast. Windows 6.5 is nice on the HTC, but 7 is just
around the corner (but you should be able to get the upgrade for free
    with HTC, I believe)
    2. My Motorola shares would go up fractionally.

It's a pity you can only buy it via expansys at the moment (you either
get the phone outright or a T-mobile contract). I'm sort of stuck with
O2 because it's the only network which gets coverage at home.

And if I read it correctly the only way of getting an unlimited web
tariff on O2 under 35 quid is to buy an iPhone.

Is it just me or is the mobile industry trying to bury Android by not
having an "Android" section on their websites? There's always a "iPhone"
    or "Windows Mobile" section.

I still have trouble grasping the idea that Motorola could produce a
phone that isn't a festering bucket of shit.

After all, it'd be a first.

  17. I enjoyed all five, in different ways.

Someone in another place recently changed their avatar to a thumbnail
    version of this:

    which made me chuckle.

I got two thirds of the way through series 1 on Virgin's Catch Up.
Then they pulled it. Then I got about four episodes in to series 2,
    before they pulled *that*.

I did see a boxset of all five series in Tesco last night, but I'm
waiting until after Christmas. Plus I have four and a half series of
    24 to get through yet.

Heh, it's a very nice phone. And I've got quite a bit of experience
