    Trying the latter.
    Ewwww.

Maybe he's just not my type of comedian. I prefer off the wall stuff from
the likes of Ross Noble, Bill Bailey, Jonny Vegas etc.

After a few of Carr's facial expressions, I just want to smash it with a
    frying pan.

Still, it wouldn't do to find everyone funny - gives me time to recompose.

Noble was on HIGNFY this weekend - he worked well with the others, although
QI was funnier this week with it's take on Space Porn and Buddhism
I feel the same. We could form an anti-Carr pressure group. I'm sure Simon
Amstell would like to be involved.

I've only watched the first half so far. I saw Noble live recently, lots
of improv and reacting to the audience, and without seeing another one of
the same tour, difficult to tell how much was scripted. Very funny show.
Didn't know what to make of Amstell when he took over Buzzcocks, but now
    find his stuff hilarious.

    [snip Jimmy Carr]

    I think he's fucking hilarious.

    The out-take DVD of "9 out of 10 Cats" is piss-drippingly funny[1].

As you say, he doesn't give a **** what subject matter he's on, but
    he'll make it funny.

I was saying to A., there should be a programme where Jimmy Carr,
Charlie Brooker and Mark Lamarr just take the piss out of someone for
30 minutes solid - that'd be my ultimate funny TV show.

[1] there's a bit in it where he's talking about his mum explaining to
him what feltching was, where I had to literally put my drink down as
I was laughing so much I would otherwise have spilled it.

I was never a big Buzzcocks fan. Lamarr & Jupitus just don't work for me
most of the time. I've always liked Bill Bailey but just couldn't be
bothered wading through the other crap for his good bits.

I've started watching it since Amstell took over. He works well with Bailey
and is often very funny himself.

This is one of my favourites

Barrowman & Bailey ganging up on Amstell, the gay off and finally a dig at
    Jimmy Carr. Excellent stuff.

    Rip'n'seed, please.

I went to two NTMB recordings while Lamarr was the host and, while the
show itself was tired old shit, the abuse from Labarr toward the
audience made it worth the visit both times.

IIRC Mrs William Grainger was at university with a young Mr Carr. He was
chairman of the SU Entertainments Committee, or something like that.

I thought I'd give it a go to see if I can be converted.

exactly that one. There's rather too much Jade Goody on it, but aside
    from that, it's hilarious.

    It's all me-me-me with you, isn't it?

FWIW, I never argued with Will either. Do you see me demanding a
T-shirt? Well, do you? Hmmm? HMMM?

Whenever suits, old chap. I have to pop over to Flitwick soon anyway, so
I'll drop it off if you like.
