I've just bought Janet a Compaq base unit to replace her 6 year old slow pc.
No OS disc supplied - I need to make recovery discs of the Windows 7 system.
The instructions read; 'This program only allows you to make one set of
    recovery discs.'

My question(s) - can I make identical copies of these discs and expect them
to work, can I copy the discs onto a back up hard drive to make a working
set of recovery discs at a later date? Knowing my luck the discs will have
gone funny (technical expression) if I ever have to use them and I would
feel better if I had a second set or a set on a hard drive.

  2. You could create ISO images of the first set and back those up.

I've just read about ISO images - they make sense. Thanks for the info.
