OT shorts bits of steel

Don't suppose anyone knows of a place in the Nottingham area of the cuntry
where i can buy off cutts or short lengths of steel?

I need some square hollow section steel,
60x60x4mm 1.5 meters of
50x50x3mm 2 meters of
100x100x2mm 2 meters of.

But all the places i've tried so far can only sell in the full 7.5 meter
lengths, they state health and bloody safety as the reason they cant sell
small cut lengths!!!

Plus i'm looking at about 130 quid for that, bit expensive especialy as i'd
have no real use for the 5 + meter lengths i don't use.

The local blacksmiths/fabricators in town (Grantham) who would have been
able to sort me out with these bits retired last year, and now it's almost
impossible for me to get the bits i need to do the odd metal item i make up
as no one took over his buiseness.

 

Our local big B&Q (supplies trade) has a reasonably selection of stuff.
The 2 metre length might be an issue though. I got stuff from them when
I was welding up a sidecar wheel cradle to bolt on to the trailer to
carry the outfit.

Bunch of useless cunts - they can't be arsed, more like. Your only
recourse is to find another small welding or fab shop and ask for bits.

that's what i thought, i'm having trouble thinking why H&S would give a toss
if they cut a 7.5 meter long section down to 5.5 meters long, they still cut
the metal to order, but only if you buy the whole length it seems,

Found a couple of places that sell 'off cuts' on fleabay, decent prices and
amazingly the 2 main ones on fleabay are about 30 miles from me, but none of
them have any of the 60x60x4 that i need,
and that's the most importiant one as it's the chassis extension bits that
the tow bar, bumper and bike rack will fit in, and it's that size so some
50x50 box slides in it easily,

Might end up buying a whole length of the 60x60x4, and use the rest to build
a heavy duty trailer... anyone need a tank trailering somewhere?

 

I get my metal locally from the farmers' store. Farmers are always
needing various things welded - gates, barns, cows, tractors, wives, etc
and have a need for differing sizes of round, box, flat and angle.
