Well for some reason my Acme Sarcast-o-meter {tm} was borked. When I get
a chance I'll put some new batteries in it.

Right, that's it. I've just pulled the plug on my Glasgow trip.

329M with a view to using the M4 as I thought the roads through
Holyport would be nearly as bad as the residential ones near home. The
sliproad onto the M4 was solid, as was the M4 itself, so ended up going
along the A4. In hindsight, that was A Bad Idea.

Fuckloads out here in the sticks.

No buses, and the DLR turned back at Westferry.

Booked a GP appointment for this arvo in an attempt to not have to
bother for the rest of the week.

We did that to a school mate on our skiing trip to Bulgaria in 1979.

Locked him out on the balcony in his pyjamas bottoms and bare feet.

Decided to let him in when he changed colour.

He was ever so cross with us.

Apparently it was around -15 deg C.

Snowfall's picking up down here, too. Nice big fluffy flakes.

  12. I actually had a day off booked for today - interview in London (cough).
    That's been cancelled. Bah.

And most of the office hasn't made it in. So I'm doing some work.
Bah.I'll get this day knocked off my holiday allowance, I think.

A foot of snow, drifting to two feet, here in Sutton. Just had an epic
snowball fight with half the street. Schools closed, nobody can get to
    work, so...

They don't need snow for that, they can do that on the M20 in the dry...

Rubbish. If your only way out is to lock and skid, you've well
overdone it already. ABS can actually help regain drive.

Of course, a decent combination of 4WD, ABS, TCS and EPS plus winter
tyres and 300bhp all working seemlessly together is the way to really
moake the most of the snow :))

Winter tyres, on their own, are of much grater benefit than anything
else, though - I wonder if the UK will start to catch on to the idea
    any year soon?

Not unless we start getting extreme cold and/or snow more than twice a
    year.

Nah, that's just another way for the tyre companies to rip us off.

Not until prices of winter tyres come down to reasonable levels. Having
been shown the prices of winter tyres in Austria last night[1] I really
do feel we're being ripped off something chronic over here for them.

    [1] About 30 quid a corner cheaper.

I fucking hope not, they'd make them mandatory with a sodding great
fine if you haven't got them.
