Unless you're in Germany, when you're all frogmarched to the local
branch of the gestaltpolizei for a right royal rogering.

Lets put it another way. When an administration starts making law without
reference to those affected and makes it all but impossible to challenge and
change law. What do you think people should do?

I'm referring to things that don't hurt or affect anyone else of course.

As I'm not prepered to let the challenge take over my life and consume all
my finances, as some people do, well one just gives them the finger and FRO
into the distance. Literally and metaphorically.

As for said Supreme Court, what do you think of it? From their own website:

"In August 2009 the Justices moved out of the House of Lords (where they sat
as the Appellate Committee of the House of Lords) into their own building on
the opposite side of Parliament Square. They will sit for the first time as
a Supreme Court in October 2009.
The impact of Supreme Court decisions will extend far beyond the parties
involved in any given case, shaping our society, and directly affecting our
    everyday lives"

See that last sentence? Those are the things we should be electing
politicians to do. I can't think of a worse group of people or profession
than Barristers/Judges to "Shape our Society".

Who are citizens to decide that it's bad law?

Or to put it another way, can we move back to prohibition of women owning
property. Where Women = Ex Wives.

    Careless - 3-9pts, >£2,500, discretionary ban

Above there, it gets into "real court" territory, with inside-time on the

Hmm. Personally, I'm happier with the judiciary being independent from
the government and able to slap bad law back at the idiots who passed it
just so they could get a cheap Daily Wail headline or two.

But that is not what they are suggesting at all.

And as we employ an Attorney General there should be no badly drafted law.

This "friend" of yours... Would you know him through similar channels to
Hog with his "friend" with the "pool-car" 911, by any chance?

That was lucky. When I had missed an SP30 off when we claimed, they
deducted the % difference on the premium from the payout. It was a lot
    more than five quid.

    Gits.

Of course, their agents losing the bike in the first place *may* have
    had a bearing.

    Actually, I was semi-genuinely playing Devil's Advocate.

What gives your average subject the qualification or ability to decide
that any given law is a bad law?

Coo, so it is. For some reason I thought it topped out at 11. Still,
    better that than the ban.

Not just different grades. One's recordable, the other's not. One can
put your DNA on the database, the other...well, prace bets now.
