I'd mostly agree, except that I was using it as a reverse to 'Hog.

They are not breaking the law for the same reason.

Indeed they do. They do not amount to 'I'm going to break the law
    because I think it's bad'

Don't get me wrong absolutely happy for them all to be fined.

It is amusing that the anti-speed camera camp aren't all here :)

    Not relevant.

I'd have thought just keeping them inside until they were too old to walk
    quickly would have been sufficient.

  12. At least here in NL it's pretty obvious that it's just a revenue game.
Any ticket issued by a camera, fixed or mobile[1], is sent directly to
the registered keep of the vehicle with a request to pay.

No mention of "who was the driver?" or any of that complicated
bollocks, just "send us the money".

[1] and by ****, are they crafty buggers with them. Tiny little things
on tripods that you have no hope of seeing on the motorway. On the
equivilent of "A Roads", they even stick them inside wheelie bins that
have a hole cut out of the back.

I *really* can't see how it's a 'hidden tax', If you don't break the
rules, you don't pay the 'tax'.

OTOH I can fully understand simply factoring them into the cost of your
    travel arrangements.

Same in CH. For some reason, a recent one I'd clocked in J's car came
    adressed to Mr/Mrs/Company Boss[1]
Unless you're more than 20kph over (in CH, that is) in which case you
have to name the driver if it wasn't the owner and it has to go
through the courts, as it could lead to a ban...

Suits me fine, it's an optional not-very-well-hidden tax, is all.

  20. You remind me, I forgot to mention that a certain amount over the limit
(+30 I think) does lead to a flag on a system somewhere, and then
another amount (+50) leads to a court appearance. Or something like
    that.
