I'll see your 8 and raise you 24...

Although some of those display boxes are very nice, but obviously
    aimed at collectors.

  5. I have three:

Seiko - Daily wear or any time it is more likely to get damaged.
Stowa Marine Original Roman, white face black strap - uber smart.
Stowa Flieger Ikarus, rhodium face, brown strap - smart casual.

I could easily add a black faced, black strap watch to that collection.
and then another one with a steel strap.

Then I could use a white face with brown strap and a grey face with a
    black strap.

    Thats six before you've blinked!

I got one of them in piano black - 2 motorised twirly bits holds 2
watches in each twirly bit and 6 watches displayed at the bottom.
Sold the expensive watches to fund my motorcycle addiction - £50 if
    anyone wants it.

I have quite a few watches.

A 70's Garrard, a 50's Smith, a watch for (mucky) working in, an old East
German thing that is still behind the bench where it fell and about five
    different railway watches.

Oh, and a watch for attaching to motorbikes.

Do you use a chain to attach it to your waistcoat?

    Git.)

I have decided a MO is going to be far too big, but am still keeping an
eye out for an Antea KS or 365, hence my gander at WUS and spotting
    that Kwak watch.

Well, partly, but I also have a Casio that attaches conveniently round
    my wrist.

  14. Big? I don't think so.

I can send you some on the wrist with tape measure photos if it helps?
(Or is this your way of convincing yourself you don't need it?)

For my wrist, it is. I tried on a Longines of similar size recently[1]
and I decided it was just too big for me. A slightly smaller one was
OK, hence my considering the KS or 365 now.
    Go on then, thanks.
No, I'd love one. I can afford one. I just don't want to spend that
much on something I won't wear.

[1] Purely to see how a 40mm dia watch looked on my wrist. I don't
    really want a Longines.

So tell me, why do you feel it's acceptable, nay practically required,
to keep buying new phones, which first have to be dicussed here, ad
infinitum, at least once a month, but pour such scorn[1] on those who
do the same thing with watches?

[1] Rightly so, I have to say.

  17. What's your wrist size then?

    Small )

I haven't actually measured it, but as I said, a 40mm dia watch just
looks too big for me, in my *personal* opinion.

    now.
