OT (sort of): Watch

  1. Oi! I'm surprised you can remember that far back you cont.

Besides, I only have a 7 inch wrist circumference (at least, on my left
(watch wearing) wrist), which is reasonably average.

Your right wrist is noticably bigger than your left?

  3. Nope, and I've never measured the right one, however, it's always
easier to get the fat/wanker/whatever joke in first.

OK - I've just measured my wrist and it is approx 7" circumference.

This doesn't alter the fact that *I* think a 40+mm dia watch is too big!

I've seen on-wrist pics of MOs & Fliegers on WUS, and I still sometimes
think that they look too big for the person wearing them, so obviosuly
    it's just me.

Positively svelt, I'd suggest. Mine's about that and I always need to
remove several links from normal man-sized watche straps.
Mine's about 37mmm and is perfectly big enough. I'm not a fan of big
ones[1] either, although I'd probably be happy up to about 45mm.

Not really. AFAICT these days they pretty much all can make calls,
send and receive texts, surf the web, read emails, store calendars
    etc. etc.
And I don't see why anyone would be 'interested' in telephone gimmics
either. They just 'do the job' for me.
But I'd also pour that same scorn on the very many people who start,
or tacticly approve the sentiments in, the very many 'time for a new
phone' posts. I'd just like to say that I've never bought a new phone
if the old one was still fully functioning. But I do have at least two
watches that work, plus perhaps two or three that probably would if I
    put a battery in.

    I haven't worn a watch in about 15 years and I couldn't give much of a
monkeys about mobile phones either. I suppose if nothing else at least
    I'm consistent.

I have a Christopher Ward automatic that works very well thank you.
    Simple, and does the job...
