OT techy help required

    Greetings.

    Can one of you hardware type bods tell me how I run a swipe me credit card
    machine and broadband down the same phone line.
    They tell me I need some sort of filter widjit but no one seems to know what
    its called.

    They are a bit dim over here sometimes.

    A Broadband filter? Available for about a quid from most online stores, or 6
    quid from PC World ;-)

    Z-filter or Microfilter. But you'd have one already if you were running
    ADSL.

    Well I've never actually tried, but I don't *think* the ADSL will work
    without one. ISTBC

    The ADSL will work fine without a filter UNLESS you plug something else
    in (phone, fax, Sky box, alarm, credt-card swiper). They are lo-pass
    filters which stop other equipment interfering with the higher
    frequencies used by ADSL.
